I'm Steven, and I encourage simplicity to grow

I provide meditation training for athletes, coaches and teams to bring about top-level sports performance. I train clients on Zoom and at my Zendo in Deventer. Since 2014 I am a credited zen-teacher, with experience at international zen-monestaries.

my experience with the proces

I have always been involved with sports. Both by practicing elite sports myself and by standing on the other side as a strength and conditioning coach for football club SC Heerenveen and as a(n) (inter)national rowing coach.

 This means I know what the sports world looks like. I understand the processes that trainers, coaches, and athletes go through. And on the other side, I have immersed myself in the Zen world. I am a meditation practitioner and have spent weeks training at retreats, and months in monasteries in the mountains of Los Angeles and ’t Hoogeland of Uithuizen, besides I run a zen center in Deventer. This combination is incredibly powerful and puts me in an excellent position to transfer my knowledge to others.

For optimal results, we build your meditation practice to meditate twice a day for twenty minutes each session.

You meditate separately from your sports activities. However, during your training sessions and competitions, you will rely on the skills you acquire during meditation.

No, I provide personalized training. This means the program may vary for each sport. However, the foundation, meditation, remains largely the same.
